Do you want to put your hand on my belly and feel it kicking? I am glowing with its near-complete gestation, not dreading the labor of its arrival but aching with the anticipation, the slowness of its slow coming. I am blissed out with impatience. I am popping! The book! The book! Early Cover Concept by Eric Lindsey

Whereof? Hereof! Zoetic Press said yes. My book's got a poetic address. I'm signing with the Zed imprint of Santa Cruz. Look at Z and me! A person asked the Dalai Lama what his most cherished moment was. The answer: "this moment." If I were a millipede, I could count on every limb a task that needs doing, a question that needs and answer, a step to take between this state and the state of published. If I were a millipede, I would walk, rippling, wherever I went. Perhaps I am one. Fuckin' A! I'm getting big-time published!

Thrilling post today: got my copy of 2015 Poet's Market starring me! So cool to see my name in print, even on the thin paper of this seminal directory. My essay is on creative techniques—somersaults— for editing poetry on a level beyond the typical checklist about excising cliches and converting to active voice. No, my essay is about mind-space, creative oil to get the word libido as juiced as it is in the drafting or conception of poems. How to recapture that fervor for the focused and slow process of weighing and retasting each word? I feel my essay in the book takes its own space and says something that hasn't been said before in this way. *** Also piqued to see an essay about rhyme, one of my favorite subjects, that treats, to my surprise only in true rhyme: true blue lou and actually disparages off rhyme! What?! Emily Dickinson and I William Blake and I William Carlos Williams and I A gillion poets, music makers and hearers of sounds str...

Hadouken! On January 21, I put my book out into the word. I pressed the button, launched the project. Hadouken! That's how I initially felt the effort. Hadouken is a kung-fu power move from the Street Fighter video games. Ryo seems to gather all his spirit and power and push it forward from his body in a wave of blue force that's strong enough to knock someone down. All the 30 years of writing poems, the decades of submitting poetry, the rejections and acceptances, the ongoing improvement, 20 years of professional copywriting, writing and performing comedy and poetry and music, teaching poetry, everything i know about writing cover letters and resumes, plus all the support and contribution and collaboration of artists, each with their own individual forces of brilliance and creativity, the timing just before Mercury retrograde, all the blessing of friends, of fellow poets, all coming together, all in a great energy ball ---- HADOUKEN! And I'm also imagining...
